Frequently Asked Questions

The compressor is the key part of an air-conditioner that generates cool air. If no cool air is flowing out, it may be due to a defective compressor.

It triggers the cooling cycle through the evaporator and condenser coils. If the compressor is not working, a professional technician is needed to fix it.

In a proper functioning air-conditioner, water will condense in the indoor fan coil unit and be released through a drainage pipe to the nearest drain.

If this pipe is clogged, water will seep out from the unit. Air-conditioner servicing is required to vacuum the pipe to unblock it.

This situation may stem from a few reasons.

One reason is a dirty indoor fan coil unit, resulting in poor dispersing of cool air. Another reason is a dirty outdoor condenser unit, leading to the inability to create a cooling refrigerant.

The air-conditioning system may have insufficient refrigerant as well. If your unit is too small for your room’s size, it may also cause inadequate cooling.

Inspect your electrical panel. One typical reason is electrical power not being supplied to the air-conditioner. Ensure that there is electrical supply and that is has not tripped.

Once you make sure that electricity is being channeled, get a technician to repair it for you.

Constant servicing of your air-conditioning unit offers a few benefits.

They include a lower electrical consumption, better cooling, reduced leaking and need for air-conditioning repair. It also lengthens the lifespan of your unit.

It is generally recommended that residential units are serviced and inspected every 3 months. For commercial units, every month is ideal.

How regularly you service your unit depends on your usage pattern and other environmental components.

While it is not recommended to personally try fixing complicated air-conditioner issues especially for newer models, there are some maintenance tips you can do.

Clean your unit’s air filter and outer panel every two weeks. This promotes the performance of your air-conditioner.

There are some reasons for this occurrence.

For example, a dirty indoor fan coil unit or outdoor condenser can produce a vibrating type of noise. Loose installation of air-conditioner components and faulty parts in the system can also cause noise.

Foul smells originate from bacteria created by microbes in the indoor fan coil unit. This unit tends to breed microbes because it is warm, dark and humid.

A strong chemical treatment may be required to resolve extreme smells.

This is because aircon chemical wash cleaning  can thoroughly cleanse the unit. Sometimes, general servicing may not work if a unit is badly choked. In this case, chemical washing of each individual component is needed.

No, it is advised not to. Taking apart the fan coil unit allows thorough washing of the different parts. This helps to clean the unit better and reduces the chances of leftover chemical residue that can corrode the fan coil.

We offer services for a wide range of air-conditioner types and brands. Some examples include window, residential, commercial and casement units.

We have an extensive selection of air-conditioning services. They include air-conditioner servicing, maintenance, chemical overhauls, chemical cleaning, unit repairs, unit installations, evaluating and advice.

A rule of thumb is to research for a reliable and well-known company. Check their profile, experience and after-service warranty.

Firstly, stay calm.

Do not attempt to add refrigerant gas yourself. Engage a certified technician to carry out pressure testing to find out the location of the leakage. A suitable amount of refrigerant gas should then be deposited after repairs are complete.

Many new air-conditioner models in the market come supplied with an air purifying filter. This filter gets rid of odours, harmful particles and pollutants in the area where the unit is. It is advised to replace this filter every 3 to 6 months. Otherwise, check the colour of the filter. One telltale sign is a change from white to dark brown or black. Leaving a dirty filter in your unit can affect its cooling capacity.

Yes, you do.

Servicing once a year is needed to ensure that your unit’s air circulation is not obstructed. Obstruction can cause poorer cooling efficiency, reduced compression life and greater electrical consumption. Should it be subjected to environmental conditions, a technician will provide you with advice.

This is mainly due to two reasons.

First, there may be inadequate gas in the system, leading to ice formed on the discharge pipe. Second, a dirty fan coil unit or filter can result in ice formed on the suction pipe.

The blinking indicator light signals that there is a problem with the unit’s system. Therefore, the air-conditioner turns off on its own. You must hire a technician to distinguish and remedy the fault.

This sudden switching off also acts as a protective measure to prevent more damage. Avoid resetting the electrical power to get it running temporarily. Further operation may cause greater issues.

This is likely due to a problem with the indoor electronic circuit board. This board manages the indoor fan coil’s operations. Any damage leads to a loss of control.

Hence, repair or renewal is of the circuit board is imperative.

The issue may lie in either the remote controller or indoor printed circuit board. To test which it is, use the remote controller on other fan coil units. If it works, it indicates that there is no problem with the controller. Should the problem be with the circuit board, you need to get a technician to repair it.

In the event of the unit’s refrigerant leaking, pressure testing refers to discerning the leakage area. This is conducted by bringing high pressure into the fan coil unit, condenser and refrigerant piping.

After detecting the problem site, more repair work will be estimated.

In most cases, it can be repaired. Most companies have insufficient knowledge on repairing and testing the board. So, they choose to replace it instead.

While replacing it is less time-consuming, it is also more expensive. Yong He Aircon understands that reducing expenses is important and is dedicated to helping our customers do so. We are one of the few servicing companies providing such repair services.

We are experienced in repairing the air-conditioning circuit boards of various popular brands successfully.

Here are some areas of assessment.

First, decide on the size of the location where the air-conditioner is needed to cool. Next, decide on the cooling power needed. Shortlist a few brands and air-conditioning types you fancy. Lastly, work out a budget and get one that best suits your needs and fits your pocket.

There is a formula used to determine this:

Area of Room [ Length (ft) x Width (ft) ] x 65 = “Cooling Capacity” BTU/hr

For example: Room size of 10ft by 10ft. Cooling Capacity = (10ft x 10ft) x 65 = 6,500 BTU/hr

We have a wide array of popular brands, including:

1. Daikin Air Conditioner
2. Panasonic Air Conditioner
3. Carrier Air Conditioner
4. Sanyo Air Conditioner
5. Mitsubishi Air Conditioner
6. Toshiba Air Conditioner
7. Fujitsu Air Conditioner
8. LG Air Conditioner
9. Samsung Air Conditioner
10. SHARP Air Conditioner

An inverter-based air-conditioning system contains a variable speed compressor that other non-inverter units do not have. This means that the rotation speed’s frequency is automatically regulated to adhere to certain cooling load requirements.

Hence, power consumption is more energy-efficient.

Typically, the warranty offered by many manufacturers for residential units are one year for general components and 5 for compressors. Make sure to clarify the warranty duration before making a purchase.

It is possible, but in-depth cleaning must be conducted. This is because the new R410 compressor uses another type of lubricating oil. Reusing the R22 model could combine the oils and result in a switch in properties.
